Tiger Woods is an American professional golfer. He finished second in the men’s big championship. The world knows Tiger Woods as one of the best golfers of all time and a famous gambler. Woods is also known to many as a successful gambler. The Tigers’ interest in gambling began when he met two people like Michael Jordan and Charles Berkeley. Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley were both popular high rollers. He gambled most of the time.

Woods became a professional golfer at the age of 20. Woods is considered the number one player in the world for his biggest total week. He holds the record for winning the PGA Player of the Year award 11 times a year. He has also received the Byron Nelson Award for Adjusted Scoring eight times. Woods has been practicing professional golf since childhood. He is registered as an independent voter. 

January 2009, he delivered a speech commemorating the military at Obama’s inauguration at the Lincoln Memorial. In April of that year, he visited the White House. In December 2016 and November 2017, Woods played golf with President Donald Trump at the Trump International Golf Club. Woods has also written extensively on golf. He wrote a golf guide column for Golf Digest magazine from 1997 to February 2011. One of his best-selling golf guide books is ‘How I Play Golf’.

Family Background

Tiger Woods was born on December 30, 1975, in Cyprus, California. He has two brothers and a sister from his father’s first marriage. Their father’s name was Earl. He was a retired U.S. Army officer and veteran of the Vietnam War. Woods’ father was born to African American parents. He was also of European, Native American, and possibly Chinese descent.

Woods’ mother’s name is Kultida. Earl met him in 1978 while on a duty tour of Thailand. Woods’ mother Kultida is of mixed Thai, Chinese and Dutch descent. Woods’ first name was Eldrick, chosen by his mother. This is because it started with Earl’s “E” and ended with Kultida’s “K”. The name between the two is Tont which is the traditional Thai name.

A friend of Woods’s father gives him a Tiger nickname. One of his nieces in the Woods family, Cheyenne Woods, also became a golf champion. She played for the Wake Forest University golf team and became a professional during the 2012 LPGA Championships.

Personal Life

In 2003, Woods became involved with Barbara Holberg, a former Swedish model and former immigration minister, and Elin, the daughter of radio journalist Thomas Nordegren. They got married on October 5, 2004. In 2006, the pair bought a $39 million estate on Jupiter Island, Florida, and began building a 10,000-square-foot home. However, Woods moved there in 2010 after their divorce. The main reason for their divorce was a party full of girls and gambling. Woods and Nordegren’s first daughter was born in 2007. They named their daughter Sam Alexis Woods. Then in 2009 their son Charlie Axel Woods was born.

More than a dozen women have claimed links to Woods in various media appeals. In 2013, Woods announced that he was dating Olympic gold medalist Sky Lindsay Vaughn. Then in 2015, their separation took place. From November 2016 to August 2017 he re-engaged with stylist Christine Smith. Woods then announced in November 2017 that he was in a relationship with Erica Herman, a restaurant director. In November 2009, National Enquirer claimed that Woods had an extramarital affair with Rachel Uchitel, manager of the nightclub in New York City, which Woods denied. 

Two days later, around noon, Woods was driving from his Florida mansion. Then he collided with a tree and a few hedges. The collision caused a small drip on his face and he got a ticket for reckless driving. The media speculated about the cause of the accident. Woods then claimed responsibility for the crash by publishing a statement on his website. On November 30, 2009, Woods announced he will not be taking part in any golf tournament due to injury. He also announced that he would take an indefinite break from professional golf.

Gambling Career

Woods has a $1 million limit on each casino in Vegas. He also played 25,000 per hand. His favorite casino is the MGM Grand Mansion. Going deep into gambling habits, Woods always asks for a table for himself where the girls are full. Woods and his wife got divorced because of the girls at this party. The value of their divorce was $ 750 million.

Wood’s father, Earl Woods, introduced him to golf when he was two years old. From playing golf he once became a passionate gambler. His father Earl was a single-figure disabled amateur golfer. He was also an early African-American college baseball player at Kansas State University. Woods’ father entered the Navy Golf Course next to the Loud Alamitos Joint Forces Training House. Woods also had the opportunity to play there.

The 11-years-old Woods Masters won nearly $1.2 million by breaking the drought. Inside Las Vegas, William Hill placed $85,000 bets on Woods to win his 15th major. Woods won $130,000 from a bet on a Westgate sportsbook in Las Vegas. He paid $85,000 at another futures bet at Westgate. Sportsbook paid more than $4.5 million over three bets on Philadelphia gals in the Super Bowl LII in February 2018. This resulted in William Hill being the highest payer, operating more than 100 sportsbooks in Nevada and New Jersey.

Arrested by The Jupiter Police

Woods was arrested on Thursday, May 29, 2016, for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was sleeping in the engine lane of his car in the traffic lane. He later said he had used prescription drugs and did not understand how they could communicate together.

At an October 27, 2017 hearing, Woods was found guilty of reckless driving. He was given one-year probation at the hearing and was fined $250. Wood was also instructed to undergo regular drug tests as well as 50 hours of community service. He was ordered not to drink alcohol during probation. However, if he violates probation, he will be given 90 days in jail with an additional $500 fine.

Other Initiatives of Tiger Woods

Although Tiger Woods is a popular golfer, he continues to gamble through his game. Whatever, he did not calm down. He and his parents started an organization that would have detailed information about golf. The TGR Foundation was founded in 1997 by Woods and his father. The primary goal of this foundation was to encourage golf among children. It operates junior golf clinics in the country. 

In November 2006, Woods launched a new company called Tiger Woods Design. Through this, he announced his desire to start designing golf courses around the world. After a month, he announced that the company’s first course would be in Dubai as part of a 25.3 million-square-foot development. Tiger Woods later took two more courses in design, but none of them were implemented.

Woods wrote a golf guide column for Golf Digest magazine from 1997 to February 2011. He also wrote a golf guidebook in 2001. The name of the book is “How I Play Golf”. Its first edition had the largest print run, 1.5 million copies. Then in 2007, he published a memoir, The 1997 Masters: My Story, co-written by Lorne Rubenstein. He announced that in 2019 he wrote a memoir titled “Back”.
